Albufeira is the center point of the Algarve and one of the most established tourist destinations in Europe. Faro Airport is just 30 minutes away, while the A2 Motorway to Lisbon begins its journey north just outside Albufeira, To complement these road links Trains are available in nearby Ferrerias and the local Marina allows you to arrive by private boat.
The town itself dates back to the Neolithic and bronze ages with several archaeological digs in the area to prove this history. The town Charter was established on August 20th 1504 and is celebrated annually as the date of the municipal holiday.
